We all want to be more productive, right? But what does being motivated mean and how can we improve our own motivation to live happier, healthier, and more efficient lives?

Just like anyone else, we always call on motivation as the necessary ingredient to achieve anything worthwhile. Most people think one must be in the right frame of mind to get anything started. So it's either a good feeling or nothing happens. Such people will not get anything done if they must wait for motivation all the time.

It is not true that you must possess the motivation to act or do your best work. No, it is not needed. For those that are well disciplined, motivation comes from the promises they made to themselves a long time ago. And they are able to do their work or what is needed as at time due.

However, no one is immune from the occasional lack of motivation. One may even be disciplined in the morning and find that such is no more there later in the day. In other words, we can not be motivated at all times, and just like our will can lose its potency, sometimes.

Hence, one doesn't need to rely on motivation at all times. However, for those that can not work until motivation sets in, you can keep yourself in the motivating states so that you can do…
